isn’t it such a wonderful feeling to have that desire to read again? i so relate to being an avid reader growing up but then kind of losing that as an adult. but i’m hoping this year will be different and i find that love for it again. what a great read! 💕
I hope that you're able to have a fantastic reading year, Rebecca, and discover so many brand new favourites! It is definitely a wonderful feeling to want to lose yourself in books again 🤎
I get intense anxiety when I haven’t read in a while where no matter what I’m doing I can’t stop thinking about going home to read. I never really thought about it though, I think partially it’s a need for decompression stillness and flow.
My Goodreads loves to remind me I’m four books behind my goal of 52 books but first of all I have been fearless in my pursuit of chonky books and second I’m finishing three in the next few days so eff off GR😝
I understand and resonate with this so much -- I feel the same way. Even if it's just a chapter, I feel this strong desire to read something 🤎
Oh, I hate when Goodreads does that haha. I bet it will feel good to have those books read so Goodreads can stop badgering you! And I definitely think it's worth celebrating that you're reading and finishing those bigger books -- they ALWAYS intimidate me.
I can definitely tell a difference in my mental health when I don’t get to read. Even just five pages before bed makes a difference. Congrats on reaching your goal!
Your taste in books is so similar to mine. Fredrik Backman is one of my absolute favorite writers. We got 2 puppies 2 weeks ago, and I haven’t managed to pick up my book, and it already feels like something. Gonna restart as we speak! (currently reading Norwegian Wood)
I can definitely understand why Fredrik Backman is one of your favourites. I loved Beartown, but I'm so excited to pick up his other books, especially Anxious People. And I can imagine that two puppies would be VERY time consuming! I hope you enjoy Norwegian Wood -- I want to pick that book up too! I'd love to hear your thoughts 🤎
‘My husband was telling me that I seem more like myself now that I’m back to reading again.’ Oh I loved this so much! Isn’t it so lovely to make reading your personality again! I find that, if I’m out of the reading groove, I don’t actually feel like myself and only realise when I pick up a book again.
Congrats, Madeline! Getting back to reading is such a great feeling and I’m so glad it’s providing so much joy for you!
Thank you so much, Michelle! 🤎
Congrats!! So happy for you 🤍
Thank you so much, Isabel 🤎

I'm watching The Bear as well :D
It's so good! I honestly can't believe it took me this long to watch it 🤎
I love Normal People. I re-watch it every year, I know it only came out 4 years ago so not that many times, but I just love it!
Oh that's incredible and I definitely understand why you would. So far I think it's a wonderful adaption of the book 🤎
congrats! 💛 finding your way to the love of reading is such a lovely outcome and I'm so happy you are finding so much joy in it again
Thank you for the mentioning!

Congratulations! Normal People is one of my all time favorite book-to-screen adaptations. I think it captures the novel perfectly.
So far I'm loving it. I definitely agree that it's a wonderful adaption, the actors were honestly made for these roles 🤎
Congratulations! That's a wonderful achievement!!
